The first program ECI offered was in Civil Engineering - followed by Electrical Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering. After ECI became one of the top Engineering Schools in Colombia, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Economics, and Administration programs were added.

The School has grown and diversified over recent years with the creation of various Research Centers, the consolidation of research programs and the opening of different specialization programs.

All the academic programs are 10 semesters with the exception of the Economics and the Administration programs which are 9 semesters.
